The images in this gallery capture Flushing from the 1950's to the present. Many photos were taken from the same location over this span of time, they show both enduring landmarks and dramatic change. Since constructing this site over 2 years ago I have been continuing to get a great response for pictures from my old home town, now averaging about 20,000 views a month. These altrustic murals appear in Flushing High School's main building. They adorn two stairways leading to the basement in front of the administration offices and are shown here spliced together as a composite image. These were part of the depression era Works Progress Murals program, they remind me of the theme murals by Victor Arnautoff in San Francisco's Coit Tower.
